Project Youth first became aware of the Get Fit Give Back campaign through the very young people they support, who frequently visit the Hurstville Aquatic Centre. As the largest youth homelessness organization in Southeast Sydney—operating across Georges River, Bayside, and the Sutherland Shire—the team works tirelessly with 12 to 24-year-olds facing severe disadvantage. “We have a crisis refuge nearby, and our young people quite often frequent the centre, so we were aware of the campaign,” explains Natasha, a Youth Worker at Project Youth. "Then last year, we were approached by the campaign and became a recipient of funding."

Because every new BlueFit membership sends $100 directly to the chosen local cause, Project Youth received a seamless funding boost that directly impacted their front-line efforts. “Not only does donating to our service ensure that our young people are safely housed and supported, but it also in turn creates awareness in the community and ensures that our young people feel supported in their lives,” Natasha shares.

Reflecting on the campaign’s broader impact, Natasha enthusiastically recommends the initiative to other local organizations looking to strengthen their roots. “It’s such a great initiative. Not only does it create a community where we’re all supporting each other... but it also ensures that those services are connected, thriving, and able to support their community in turn. Every person that donates and supports us is an extra supporter for these young people—an extra person in their corner when they often feel like they're alone. So thank you so much.”
