Women and Children First was welcomed into the Get Fit Give Back campaign through a wonderful grassroots connection. “One of the Lane Cove members nominated our charity to be a part of the campaign, so we were then contacted by BlueFit to get involved,” explains Jen, who works with the organization. Dedicated to ending gender-based violence, supporting families through trauma, and preventing long-term homelessness, the charity relies heavily on community backing to deliver its life-changing services.
Now having participated in the initiative for two consecutive years, the team looks forward to the campaign as a reliable and highly impactful financial boost. The structure of the program provides a unique benefit that frontline charities rarely find. “We always get excited when the time comes around because it's a substantial donation," Jen shares. "It's untied, which is fantastic for any charity because we're able to put those funds where they are needed most. And for us, that means immediate support and safety for women and children in our community escaping domestic violence.”
Witnessing firsthand how seamlessly fitness goals can transform into crisis relief, Jen highly recommends the campaign to other non-profits and community groups. “Donations we receive from the Get Fit Give Back campaign go a really long way in ensuring that we can support even more local women and children... I would highly recommend the campaign to other organizations.”
